Recalling the self-sufficiency of previous generations who planted Victory Gardens, on July 21st organic gardeners are opening their gardens to their neighbors to demonstrate techniques for growing food in small urban spaces. You will see many approaches to growing fresh food year round and to restoring the health of your family and your land.

Sustainable Bremerton is looking for home-owners here in Bremerton interested in a free energy assessment of their home. The results of this free visual assessment should be a list of 3 or more things you can do to improve the energy efficiency of your home. You could be surprised (as I was) that immediate savings can be achieved from easy, inexpensive things you can do right away. This RePower Bremerton program will kick-off officially in September and we are trying to create a backlog of homes for the assessments to take place in right away, in September. The Manette Neighborhood Coalition will be hosting a general public meeting at the Manette Community Church at 6:30PM on Thursday, May 26th.

This meeting will have a presentation from the Manette History Club, as well as a review of the Manette Walking Trail, including the Hill Climb.

Voting will be held to elect or re-elect board members for the next year.
